Rich is a strength and conditioing coach and education professional who strives to innovate, collaborate and provide value. He specialises in agility training, problem solving and coach education.
Highlights:
- Accredited strength and conditoning coach with the UKSCA since 2011.
- Currently completing a PhD on speed control during change of direction performance.
- Currently leading the S&C provision for Bristol Flyers Basketball in the BBL.
- Coached athletes from 9 to 60 years old, amateur to professional and from disabled to able-bodied.
- Worked with Gloucester Rugby, the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme, The Football Association, Birmingham City Women’s FC, Athlete Adademy and Bristol Flyers Basketball.
- Consulted and contributed to education for a number of sports teams and organisations such ALTIS, Everton Football Club, and the FA.
- Published a number of research papers on multi-directional speed and power development which you can read here.
- Contributed to book chapters such as Strength and Power Training for Female Athletes and Concurrent Training.
- Written both an undergraduate and a post-graduate degree in strength and conditioning and subsequently led those degrees for more than 5 years.
- Taught 100’s of undergraduate and post-graduate students and mentored a number of them through the UKSCA accreditation process and into their own professional coaching careers.
